Judd E. Patten, MD, PhD

Dr. Judd E. Patten, one of the founders of Louisiana Hematology Oncology Associates, is Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology.

Dr. Patten received a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Miami in Miami, Florida.  He chose to continue his education at the University of Miami where he received his Medical Degree.  Dr. Patten went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and was a National Institute of Health (NIH) Hematology Fellow and Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Miami Hospitals in Miami, Florida.   He then served as a Clinical Fellow at the Papanicolaou Cancer Center in Miami.

Dr. Patten served as Chief of the Hematology/Oncology Division at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, and was on the Cancer Committee of both Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center and Baton Rouge General Medical Center.  He was also the Chairman of the Tumor Conference at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center.

Dr. Patten has co-authored several publications which have appeared in medical journals including the Journal of Clinical Oncology.  He is also a supporter of clinical trials.

Dr. Patten is married and has 5 children and 6 grandchildren and is very involved in the community.  Dr. Patten has served as a Boy Scout Leader for several years and is a very active member in his church.
