Frederic T. Billings III, MD, FACP

Dr. Frederic T. Billings III, a fifth generation physician, Board Certified in Hematology and Oncology.  He has been a member of the Louisiana Hematology Oncology Associates team since 1994.

Dr. Billings received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey and his medical degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He then went on to the University Hospitals of Cleveland, as a Fellow in Hematology and Oncology, where he was Chief Resident.

Dr. Billings is very active in the Baton Rouge medical community at large.  He has served as the Oncology Division Chairman, Founder of the Cancer Center Committee, Founder of Institutional Review Board, Chairman of Multimodality Tumor Board, Chief of Staff, and varios other leadership positions at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center.  Dr. Billings has also served on the Board of Directors of the Hospice Foundation of Greater Baton Rouge and Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge.  He currently serves as Secretary of the American Clinical and Climatological Association.  Dr. Billings was named Fellow in the American College of Physicians (FACP).

Dr. Billings has also co-authored several articles appearing in such prestigious publications as the New England Journal of Medicine and the American Journal of Clinical Pathology.
